Performance as creative practice: features, properties, functions

The article presents various signs and properties of the performance, points out the complexity of the unequivocal interpretation of this phenomenon of modern art. The very concept of “contemporary art” is also clarified. A distinction is made between performance and similar phenomena - heppenig and action. Examples of the use of performance in the social and cultural fields are given. It is concluded that the boundaries of the performance are determined by the rules of everyday and cultural life that it violates, including the equalization of the positions of the performer and the positions of the performer and the viewer. The availability of perception and performance makes performance an integral tool for performing a wide range of socio-cultural functions.
