Periodicals of Saint Petersburg Theological Academy (1821–1917): devoted to the 190th anniversary of the “Christian reading” journal (ending)

From 1875 to 1915 St. Petersburg Theological Academy issued church and society journal “The Church Herald”, in the pages of which the professors of higher theological institution answered the questions which troubled not only church, but also secular society. In 1916–1917 a journal “Church and Society” and weekly magazine “The All-Russian Church and Society Herald” edited by the Academy professors were published for a short time. The present article is devoted to the revelation of the main milestones in the dramatic history of these periodicals, in the pages of which extremely sharp and mixed, disputable and topical issues were discussed.
