The article examines the development potential and perspective directions of tourism development in the Zhambyl region of the Republic of Kazakhstan. The authors analyzed the current state of tourism development in the region, identified the main groups of tourist attractions: natural and recreational, historical and cultural, sacred, health-improving, gastronomic, handicraft, musical. The current problems and factors hindering the development of tourism in the region are identified, as well as the conceptual directions of its development.
