Outlooks for pulse-laser alloying and pad welding

Pulse-laser-aided experiments have been fulfilled for the alloying process study. The study confirmed that the pulse laser alloying is an affective technique for the surface modification of both thin layers (below 100µm) and layers with a larger alloy bedding depth (up to 5 mm). Practical examples of restoration of surfaces of worn-out, defective or wrecked during operation devices by means of the pulse-laser pad welding are described in the paper. An advanced combined method for the surface modification of devices is offered based on the pulse-laser pad welding followed by the alloying.
