Prospects for the integration of migrants into the host community: problem analysis

The relevance of examining the issues of migrant integration is increasing in modern Russia due to the growing demand for labor migrants under the demographic crisis in this country. The research focuses on the problems of the host community hindering the integration of newcomers. The results of a mass survey in Yakutsk and Nizhny Bestyakh are summarized. The study identifies the problem areas of integration as well as the factors that prevent the inclusion of migrants in the civil society. In addition to cultural factors, the social and economic situation and the level of social capital development affect the migrant integration. The dissatisfaction with the current social and economic structure of the society is revealed. It is perceived as unfair. The negative assessment of the fairness of the existing social and economic structure of society can serve as an indicator of the level of social tension.
