Prospects for the use of digital currency in Russia in view of foreign experience

There are many reasons, both external and internal, that have led Russian economy to the state it has in 2022. The economic system has a number of structural problems in industry and services, including financial system. Cryptocurrencies based on blockchain technology are popular among the population but are not legal. Nevertheless, such digital assets can become a fine basis for Russia’s digital currency in spite of several differences between them. Digital ruble is able to overcome some of the negative consequences of anti-Russian sanctions and have a positive impact on Russian business potentially. The country has great prospects of digital currency usage, especially with the cooperation of several states and having learned the experience of other countries. China which is one of the most prospective allies of our country in many spheres such as politics and trade could be one of the Russia’s partners in cooperative work on digital currencies’ project.
