Prospects for growing agricultural export in Krasnodar region

The article assesses the export of food products and agricultural raw materials produced by agricultural companies of the Krasnodar Territory. Commodity groups have been identified by which the region is increasing exports - these are meat and meat products, vegetables, fruits, tea, sugar and grain crops. But besides this, for a number of product groups there is a decrease in export sales, among them dairy products, eggs, products of the milling and cereal industry, oilseeds and fruits, fats and oils of vegetable and animal origin, finished products from meat and fish. A positive aspect in the foreign economic activity of agri-food companies is that the amount of food exports began to exceed the amount of imports in 2017 and 2018, which indicates the region’s departure from import dependence as a result of the implementation of the import substitution policy. In order to increase the export potential, the prospects for increasing agricultural products with high added value have been identified. For this, the prospects for growth in the production of flour and sunflower vegetable oil were determined using production capacities and raw material potential of the Krasnodar Territory. Export of high value-added food products will allow for a gradual departure from the raw material dependence of the region’s economy.
