The article provides an overview of research conducted with optical coherence tomography (OCT) - high-precision non-invasive method of investigating the layers of the retina in patients with demyelinating diseases. Optical coherence tomography allows to assess the degree of thinning of the retinal layers in vitro quantitatively and qualitatively. At the present stage, it is one of the most promising methods of neuroimaging diagnosis and detection of neurodegenerative changes in the retinal nerve fiber layer (RNFL) in demyelinating process of the central nervous system.
