The prospects of civic nation building in the modern Russia

The article considers the prospects and problems of supra-ethnic civil nation formation in modern Russia, and the influence of the central authorities on this process. The author examines the program basis and the practice of the civic Russian nation building. It is emphasized that the imperial organization of the society is an alternative to the civil nation.
