Prospects for public law regulation of cryptocurrencies circulation in the Russian Federation

Legal relations related to the issuance and circulation of cryptocurrencies are developing very dynamically in today's world. In the article, the authors analyze the current Russian legislation on cryptocurrencies, as well as published draft regulations and program documents of state bodies in this area. In general, the provisions of the government's concept of legislative regulation of the mechanisms for organizing the circulation of digital currencies are positively assessed, and the possibility of adjustments is allowed. In this case, it justifies the need for the quickest possible development of means of legislative regulation of the main issues of the issuance and circulation of cryptocurrencies, as well as the taxation of income in this area, in particular the preferential tax regime and voluntary income declaration, subject to the principle of feasibility and simplicity of the execution of mandatory requirements for participants in legal relations.
