In the opinion of the author, the automobile industry exerts a significant influence on the development of national economies, serves as a source of income, provides employment for the population, and has a high science intensity. Nevertheless, both in the world automobile industry and in the Russian industry there are a number of problems that hamper its development. It is important to consider the identified problems and ways to solve them.
