Prospects for the development of import substitution in Russia: regional aspect

The article discusses the theoretical basis of import substitution, identifies the main types of strategies in the implementation of such policies, as well as the relationship with customs policy. It is revealed that measures on import substitution in the Russian Federation have been carried out since the 2000s, and anti-Russian sanctions imposed since 2014 have only expanded and accelerated this process. As a result, certain industries and agriculture have introduced systems of measures for their development and import substitution.
