Introduction: the article discusses the concept and features of administrative responsibility in the field of road traffic, the concept of road traffic as a process of movement of people and vehicles in the territorial space, the essence of road safety, the management of an electronic vehicle that occurs in conditions of constant risk of a threat to the life and health of pedestrians, the regulation of this issue in foreign legislation, as well as law enforcement practice in this area in the Russian Federation. Materials and Methods: the normative basis of the study is formed by the Constitution of the Russian Federation, the Code of Administrative Offences of the Russian Federation, the Decree of the Government of the Russian Federation of 23.10.1993 № 1090 “On Traffic Rules” regulating the implementation of traffic, bringing to administrative responsibility for violation of traffic rules, as well as the norms of foreign legislation on the issue of bringing to administrative responsibility drivers of electronic vehicles funds. The methodological basis of the work consists of various methods, both general scientific and special methods of scientific cognition. In particular, dialectical, method of system analysis, comparative legal, formal legal, statistical methods. The results of the study allowed to consider the concept and significance of administrative responsibility in the field of traffic, to characterize the foreign experience of the development of the institute of administrative responsibility in the field of traffic, to establish prospects for legislative regulation of administrative responsibility in the field of traffic in Russia. Findings and Conclusions: as a result of the identification of a gap in the current Russian legislation in terms of regulating the administrative responsibility of drivers of electronic vehicles and its negative consequences for road safety, the need to consolidate the concept of “electronic vehicle”, requirements for its drivers and administrative and legal sanctions for non-compliance with them became obvious.
