Prospects for the development of the union state of Russia and Belarus from common people's view

The paper analyzes the perspective vision by the citizens of Russia and Belarus of the consolidate future of the both countries, possible and wished characteristics of the govern models of the Union State. The empirical data is based on the representative regional polls in Orel and Vitebsk regions (900 respondents in each region in 2014) as well as on the expert interviews of the leading researchers, politicians and analysts, who are dealing with the problems of the development of the Union State. In October 2014, 23 experts were interviewed in Moscow, St. Petersburg, Nizhny Novgorod, Orel, Yaroslavl, Kazan, and Stavropol. The results of this comparative analysis are published for the first time.
