Prospects for Russia’s trade cooperation with Southeast Asia and China

In the context of increasing tensions in Russia's relations with the West, Russia's foreign policy is being transformed, with a growing influence on the development of trade relations with foreign countries. The article raises the issue of the current state of foreign trade of the Russian Federation and identifies key problems in the development of trade cooperation on the eastern vector. The study is based on the analysis of statistical data on Russia's foreign trade in 2014-2021 and the opinions of experts in the field of international economic relations. The author offers an interpretation of the concept of “Asia pivot”, which reflects the modern concept of foreign policy of the state. The study focuses on the factors that influenced the development of Russia's trade cooperation with Southeast Asia and China, which formed the basis for the development of a set of proposals for its deepening.
