Prospects for the development of a cross-border payment system within BRICS+ using CBDC

The article is devoted to assessing the possibilities of optimizing the system of cross-border payments between countries participating in the BRICS+ interstate association through the use of digital currencies of central banks, which are currently being implemented by the participating countries; the need for their use is substantiated against the background of the growing volume of cross-border transactions between the BRICS+ countries and the desire of some of them to accelerate the process of de-dollarization and increase the volume of transactions in national currencies; problems that the BRICS countries may encounter when building a common system of cross-border payments based on national digital currencies are identified, and possible measures to solve the identified problems are proposed.
