The signet rings of «Bulgar» type were wide-spread on the territory of Perm Cis-Ural, Komi Republic, Trans-Ural and West Siberia in the 11 th-14 th centuries. The publication opens a series of research on the technique of production of the rings of Bulgar type which had been found in the materials of Perm Cis-Ural archeological sites. The authors managed to reveal the peculiarities of the technique of production of the Bulgar type rings from Plotnikovo burial ground of rodanovskaya archaeological culture. The analysis of technique made it possible to define the basic shape-generating operations in jewelry production, and the main techniques of decoration of the items. The base of the rings of Bulgar type from Plotnikovo burial ground collection was being made in two ways: by hammering up of a rectangular rod and by cutting a contour of an item with a template. Ornamental elements were being engraved with linear, zigzag and dashed pitch. Gilding was being spread over separate elements of the ornament. Niello was being put over background of the ornament. The items were made from alloy with high content of silver.
