The study of the activities of the internal Affairs bodies of the Chelyabinsk region in 30-50 years of the 20th century inevitably leads to the conclusion: how little we know about the leaders of the Chelyabinsk regional police (militia). At the same time, the life and career of police chiefs, as the heads of the leading structure of the internal Affairs bodies, allows us to understand the peculiarities of the functioning of the South Ural police during this period. The head, as a key figure in the organization of activities to ensure public order and public safety, carries out a lot of management functions. However, the decisive role of the personality of the first person, his biographical characteristics, professional experience and abilities, personality traits are manifested primarily in the definition and formulation of goals and objectives for subordinate groups and employees for the protection of public order and the fight against crime, as well as the motivation for this activity. Who, when and how led the Chelyabinsk police, what they were in the service, how was and ended their lives? The article attempts to answer these questions.
