The first united European Championship in summer Olympic sports as a new step in the development of international sports and Olympic movement

The present study was devoted to a new form of holding of international complex competitions, namely to the First United European Championship in summer Olympic sports (further - Championship). The main features of their organization and holding have been disclosed in the article, the analysis of key indicators have been conducted. The statistical data, highlighting quantitative and qualitative parameters of the competition: the number of countries and the athletes, the kinds of sports, the awarded set of medals, the teams with the greatest number of won medals and others have been presented in the work.
