The singing cycle of “Jordanian Troparions” as the example of Fedor Krestyanin's creation (died about 1607)

The singing cycle of a prominent singer Fedor Krestyanin has been found among the records of state singing clerks and it is dated from 1600. the study of the cycle lists of XII—XVII cc. enabled to retrace the history of its development. The pecularities of the famous master's creation are specified appliying a tectological formula-structural method. These pecularities became apparent in the description by simple pneumas of earlier ciphered complicated formula inscriptions in Putevoy style. The theoretical research made it possible to retrace methods and a sequence of practical classes held by state singing clerks to study the cycle of troparions dated from October 14, 1600. The methods of translating the cycle from the old neumatic notation to a modern one are explained. The image-notional connections of a text and a chant are revealed.
