Trotsky’s non-involvement in the killing of Kirov and the wrecking of the 1930s is no doubt. That is why the article analyzes the consideration during the judicial counter-process of Trotsky of questions about the world revolution, the degeneration of the dictatorship of the proletariat into the despotism of Stalin, the nature of the society built in the USSR, the role of Trotskyism and Stalinism in the history of the USSR, the consequences of the defeat of Trotskyism. The defeat of Trotskyism and the achievement of party unity had, inter alia, negative consequences. Under the pretext of fighting the “fifth column”, Stalin destroyed in the year of the 20th anniversary of the October Revolution not only the Trotskyist counter-elite, but also practically the entire Bolshevik political and military elite. The author assumes that Stalin’s miscalculation in determining the timing of the German attack on the USSR in 1941 became one of the indirect consequences of the defeat of Trotskyism. The shorthand record of Trotsky’s counter-process is an important source in the study of the history of political repression in the USSR, the theory and practice of the communist movement.
