Fifth international scientific conference "War and weapons. New research and materials" (St.-Petersburg, 14-16 May 2014)

The fifth conference on the history of developing weapons was devoted to the current research in the field of the history of wars and weapons in Russia and neighboring countries. The conference was attended by archaeologists, historians and museum experts who study weapons working in a number of research centers of the European part of Russia and Siberia. The conference participants were invited to the opening of the exhibition devoted to the weapons of World War I. They also had panel discussions. The authors of this paper each presented a report on historic evidences of Russian forces activities and theirs weapons in Siberia in the XVII-XVIII centuries (A. Yu. Borisenko) and fire weapons of the Tatar soldiers serving in the Russian military forces in Western and Southern Siberia in the XVI-XVII centuries (Yu. S. Khudyakov). The discussions were devoted to contemporary issues in studying weapons.
