Logging of forest stands is one of the parameters of forest development. The maximum standards for felling forest stands in the form of permissible volumes of wood removal, calculated for continuous and selective felling when organizing the use of forests, should not be established without forecasting the environmental, social and economic consequences of their application to the zones of forest development within the boundaries of forest areas in order to preserve and prevent forest degradation, ensure their sustainable functioning as ecological systems. Standards for the removal of wood from forest stands should be established for zones of forest development included in regional forest plans, provided that artificial reforestation is carried out upon completion of logging operations in areas of continuous logging, regardless of the type of logging and the type of forest development in the volume of continuous logging.
