Platform employment and the status of digital platform workers: the arduous path to problem-solving

The development of digital technologies and globalization has significantly transformed the labor market. Today, artificial intelligence, digital platforms, algorithms, and other technological tools are already challenging the efficiency of traditional business structures and labor management methods. Against this backdrop, online platforms have gained global traction, leading to the emergence of a new type of relationship between workers and employers. At the same time, nearly all countries are in the early stages of defining future state regulations for platform-based labor relations. This article attempts to analyze the judgments of foreign experts on the nature and types of digital platforms, the legal status of platform workers, and the approaches of foreign legislators and international organizations in establishing fundamental principles for regulating labor on digital platforms.
