Platinum coins as an investment tool

This article is part of a series of scientific papers devoted to investing in precious metals. Previous articles that recommended investing in gold and silver coins have already yielded results in the form of profits received by investors. Currently, it seems relevant to turn to another precious metal - platinum. Given Russia’s abandonment of the dollar and the obvious weakness of fiat currencies, platinum seems very promising. The object of research is modern investment instruments, the subject of research is platinum investment coins. The authors carry out a SWOT analysis of investing in platinum coins. The strengths are: low probability of error when choosing a coin for investment, transparent pricing, ease of storage, recognition of a counterfeit. Weaknesses include: significant spread, lack of historical function of money, reluctance of banks to sell investment coins made of platinum, narrow range of offers, lack of domestic investment coins made of platinum. The main scientific result: an offer was made to investors to expand their investment portfolio by adding platinum coins to the gold and silver coins already in it. The proposed ratio of investment coins in the portfolio is: 70% - gold, 20% - silver, 10% - platinum. Averaging is recommended as an investment strategy where platinum bullion coins are purchased quarterly.
