Following Virginia Woolf's London routes. Walks 1 and 2

Бесплатный доступ

Arranged in the form of a virtual excursion, the article acquaints the reader with the topography of Virginia Woolf’s London - both with the real space directly related to her life and work, and with the literary space as it appears in her books. The "excursion" approach used in the article is based on the methodology of the Russian historians and city culture experts Ivan Grevs and Nikolai Antsiferov. The reader is invited to take four walks - around Kensington, Bloomsbury, following Mrs. Dalloway’s London routes and around Richmond. In the course of the walks, an extensive literary, social and cultural context is provided. The article has been written within the scope of the authors’ broader studies of the London text of English literature (the global super-textual entity, which includes all features of the constituent texts).
