On the way to ordeal. “sedmiozernoye case” in the fall of 1908 - winter of 1910

This article is the second part of the research trilogy “In Defense of the Truth and Dignity of St. Gavriil (Zyryanov). An essay on the anthropology of church morality in the light of the events of 1908”, prepared by the author on the eve of the canonization of St. Gavriil Sedmiozerniy in the face of All-Russian saints. It is dedicated to the investigation of the circumstances of what happened in the Kazan diocese at the beginning of the 20th century a high-profile case involving charges of embezzling monastic finances. The accusation was brought forward by the new diocesan administration, the vicar of the Sedmiozerniy Bogoroditskiy monastery, schema-archimandrite Gavriil (Zyryanov) and the monastic treasurer, Hieromonk Tikhon (Buzov). The publication, in particular, affects the circumstances of the case in the period after the departure of Elder Gabriel from Kazan to the Pskov diocese at the end of July 1908.
