Approaches to the assessment of publication activity and the possibility of publishing scientific articles in the library and information sphere

The article considers approaches to the assessment of the publication activity using bibliometric databases WOS CC, Scopus and Russian science citation index. The article analyzes the composition of the leading Russian journals on library and information topics, taking into account their reflection in bibliometric databases. The role of reviewing scientific publications is noted. Currently, the most common model is "reviewer-volunteer".
