Approaches to the realization of medical and anthropological research at solving regional social and economic problems

Physical development is a responsive indicator of social and economic changes both of positive and negative character. It identifies the main features of a particular generation health with aging and allows to predict adult population viability. The research objective is to improve the approaches to assessment of schoolchildren physical state, taking into account the differentiation of ecological, social and economic factors of their territories of residence creating a model of information and analytical system as a means of decision-making support at the level of regional systems of population health and environmental condition monitoring. Materials of anthropological cross-section study of schoolchildren from 19 educational establishments of Ulyanovsk region, collected during 2008-2012, were used in the paper. Anthropometric program included measuring height and weight as well as girth measurements - chest, waist, hip, upper arm, calf and wrist circumference. Standard anthropometric measurement techniques were used. Differential assessment of environmental quality and level of social and economic development of the areas were schoolchildren live was undertaken. Comparative evaluation of physical development of schoolchildren living in areas with different environmental quality and social and economic development showed differences in their height, weight and girth measurements. For objective evaluation of interaction between environmental factors and physical growth and development a model of information and analytical system with special methods of data analysis for further prediction was elaborated. Methods and approaches to the analysis of the model data take into account the input data inaccuracy, accurate correlation of the measured parameters, substantiation and formation of integral indicators, social and environmental forecasting, computer simulation of environmental emergencies and high-quality reflection of analysis results. The suggested simulation methods create conditions and resources allowing to detect risk factors for the population of a particular territory and to develop recommendations to minimize or completely eliminate such factors. The suggested methods may also be used to solve social and economic problems of the region.
