Approaches to the implementation of import substitution programs in the construction industry in the North-West region

The Russian construction industry has faced major economic problems due to sanctions and the pandemic. This caused a reduction in the output of local manufacturers of construction materials and led to the need to search for analogues of foreign components. In this regard, the government declared import substitution a priority direction of its policy. An element of the economic essence of import substitution is the reduction of the country's imports or the suspension of the import of certain types of goods into the country, the production of similar competitive domestic products in connection with ongoing sanctions measures. Solving the problems of import substitution is important at the regional level. Approaches to solving this problem can be formed through the development of programs to support domestic production in various industries, in particular in construction and the building materials industry.
