This article proposes a method for choosing a reverberation model by a sound engineer when processing musical acoustic signals in the context of creating the audial depth effect. Criteria are proposed for differentiating the spheres of application of distancing and non-distancing reverberation. The use of reverb as a special audio effect is also considered. This method is applicable not only to musical acoustic signals in various musical genres, but it can also be applied in the field of scoring video materials, radio plays, etc.
