The article tests the possibility of application of Arthur Saxe's hypothesis 8to the archaeological materials of the Bronze Age. The diachronous analysis of the burialtraditions practiced by the South Uralian population brings the author to the conclusionthat the necessity of substantiation of entitlement for vitally important resources, suchas pastures, water sources, mineral deposits arose mostly in periods of crisis and socialtransformations. Yet it could have survived for a long period after the above mentionedstimuli disappeared.
