The paper deals with a new find of the horse grave accompanying an elite burial complex from kurgan 1 in the Vysochino-IX kurgan cemetery. The complex dates back to the turn of the 5th and 4th centuries BC. The horse was buried in a narrow pit located east of the main complex. The horse was buried bridled. A noseband, bridle plates and cheekpieces made of bronze in a Scythian animal style as well as other parts of horse harness were retrieved from the burial. Besides the published assemblage, only three funerary complexes with horse burials are known in the Lower Don region.
