Searching for truth. Reflections on the monograph by A.N. Uzhankov’s “The tale of Igor’s campaign and its author”

A.N. Uzhankov’s monograph “The Tale of Igor’s Campaign and its Author” is analyzed in the review. Uzhankov proposes his solution to the problem of dating and authorship of this masterpiece of ancient Russian literature. The complex structure of this monograph, which combines a thorough philological analysis of the text and a historical analysis of the cultural and historical context of the creation of “The Tale of Igor’s Campaign”, is revealed. At the same time, there is an artistic component to Uzhankov’s research, which allows us to turn the reader into a co-author of this serious scholarly work.
