The article introduces the forgotten or little-known reviews of Soviet literary critics and editors N. Cassin, A. Turkov, M. Svetlov, written in the 40-60-s of the XXth century and devoted to the poetry publications of N. I. Tryapkin, into scientific discourse. The analysis of these reviews allows understanding the contradictory historical and literary situation and the atmosphere of obstruction, in which the poet turned out to be in his youth. In reviews, the features of the image system of N. Tryapkin and his poetic language are touched upon, their negative assessment is given and the author’s artistic inefficiency is concluded. For many years the critics treated N. Tryapkin with a jaundiced eye, neglected the evolutionary process in his work, were reluctant to make a comprehensive analysis of his collections.
