175 patients with breast cancer (T24N02M0) were treated with neo-and adjuvant chemotherapy according to CMF and CAF schedules and/or hormone therapy with tamoxifen following radical mastectomy. All patients were divided into 2 groups. Group I included 143 patients who received distant gamma-therapy (DGT) delivered to the areas of regional metastatic spread at a total dose of 40 - 44 Gy. Group II consisted of 32 patients who received electron beam radiotherapy delivered to the area of postoperative scar at a total isodose of 3 8 - 44 Gy in combination with DGT delivered to the areas of regional metastatic spread. The rate of local recurrence for patients of Group I was 20,3 %. The 8 - year recurrence-free, metastases-free and overall survival rates were significantly higher for patients of Group II than for patients of Group I. High risk factors for local recurrence in patients with ВС were found to be extensive local (T3 4) cancer involvement, patient age
