Indices of hormonal homeostasis of lung and hypophysis of rats of both sex in dynamics of malignant tumour growth. Is lung cancer a hormone-dependent neoplasm?

Concentration of genital hormones in lung tissue and gonadotropic hormones of hypophysis, as well as concentration of prolactin in male and female rats with sarcoma 45 inoculated into a lung have been studied in dynamics of malignant growth. Sexual differences in the change of the studied parameters have been observed. Presence of female-specific neuroendocrine protective mechanism from malignant aggression directly in the target-organ is supposed.
