“The adoration of the magi” by Sandro Botticelli and the history of the Medici family

This article analyzes Sandro Botticelli's painting "The Adoration of the Magi". The plot of the painting was a well-known plot from the Gospel of Matthew. Based on this story, the artist painted a painting in which the main role is given to the Medici family. Based on the study of the symbolism of images, composition and even the coloristic solution of this canvas, it is possible to reveal important aspects of the political life of Florentine society during the reign of this family in the city.
