Police arrest in the legislation of the Russian empire of the last quarter of the XVIII century

The article describes the features of the regulation of the police arrest institution in the legal acts adopted in the last quarter of the XVIII century. The regulations of the "Administration Institutions of the Russian Empire Provinces", "The Charter of the City Police Department, or a Policeman", "Regulations on the Order in Public Settlements" are reviewed. It is noted that during this period the police arrest was of procedural nature, in the countryside the local community had to participate in the implementation of the measure.
