Multicultural environment of a higher school as a necessary condition for development of students’ ethno-cultural competence

The article considers the problem of inter-ethnic relations, particularly relevant for multinational regions. The aggravation of interethnic relations necessitates the finding of ways to settle conflict situations, the training of people capable to operate effectively in a multi-ethnic environment. The authors analyze the process of formation of ethno-cultural competence, considering the multicultural environment of a higher school as a necessary condition.
