MspI-alleles polymorphism in intron gene III of the cattle growth hormone as a marker for milk protein content

MspI-polymorphism in intron III of the bovine growth hormone gene was studied in two herds Black Pied breed. High values of MspI(-) allele were observed and significant association of the allele with high content of milk protein was demonstrated. Obtained data allows us to conclude that MspI-polymorphism may be considered as potential marker of milk protein per cent in Black Pied cattle of Russian selection.
