The article presents an analysis of conceptual approaches to the concept of “resocialization” that have developed in social and humanitarian knowledge. Based on the examination of the interpretations of this term across various academic disciplines (sociology, psychology, and jurisprudence), the author delineates the potential for employing the category of “resocialization” within political science research. It is revealed that the focus of sociological science concentrates on the mechanisms of interiorization and exteriorization of changing values and behavioral models during the resocialization process. Psychological science is particularly interested in the mechanisms of personality transformation that occur in the course of resocialization. The focus of legal science is on the stages and technologies associated with the alteration of personal values throughout this process. Moreover, the potential of this category within political science lies in the integration of socio-psychological and normative mechanisms to analyze the transformation processes of individuals (including their value systems) amid the expansion of the political space. The article demonstrates that in this context, the investigation and description of specific psychological processes accompanying changes in citizens’ political perceptions is aptly framed within the concept of “political resocialization”.
