In 1991, Kyrgyzstan chose the democratic direction of development. The renewal process was accompanied by complex economic and political crises. Changes in the political system were enshrined in the 1993 Constitution of Kyrgyz Republic. The principles of separation of powers were consolidated. But frequent changes and Constitution showed the weakness of the new political system, undermined public confidence in the rule of law.
