The politic system of the modern Novgorod region

This article analyzes characteristics of the political system of the Nizhny Novgorod region in the 21st century, shows the basic political actors in the region. The authors analyze the specifics of the conflict between the main political groups in the Nizhny Novgorod region, associated with the head of the region and his opponents. Peculiarities of political participation of political parties (referring to as systemic and non-systemic ones), as well as civil society organizations are identified. The authors determined the structures of civil society, having the greatest potential as actors of political processes in the region.
