The article discusses the conditions, factors and the state of stability in the world as an open system that responds to internal and external challenges. The basis of the political stability of the state is formed by social consciousness. The author considers the special nature of the political stability inherent in Russia, which helps properly assessing the situation unfolding in it now. The author enumerates the conditions to confront threats to political stability in the country.
