Political prospects of migrants from “Islamic regions” in the future city

People’s social representations are the basic sociocultural factors determining social, economic and political processes in the country and its regions. The most relevant forms of such representation include ideas of the indigenous and native residents about their region, Russia in general, government, and migrants. The article deals with population’s images of migrants’ characteristics, political prospects of the expatriates from the Islamic regions of Russia and former USSR, and attitude of the people to the activities of the local authorities.
