Political extremism and extremeness: phenomena of social consciousness typical for the psychology and behavior of young people

Extremism among young people has become one of the key problems in the modern Russia. Today it manifests itself in the political, religious, social and economic spheres of our society. The article considers the typology of youth extremism, the psychological characteristics of youth environment and other socio-cultural components, favouring the development of extremeness in the minds of young people. Also, the author identifies a number of objective factors, without overcoming of which the effective combat with youth extremism is impossible, and a number of subjective factors acting catalytically in the formation of extremeness, which are typical features of youth as a social group.
