This study discusses the transformation processes of the constitutional structure and political regime in Great Britain over the “long 18th century”. The diversified modern approaches to the topic issue are considered in the Russian and international historiography. The peculiarities of conceptualization of constitutional structure and political regime of the limited monarchy in Great Britain from the Glorious Revolution of 1688 to the thirst third of the 19th century are analyzed in contemporary historiographical views. The evolution of the political regime of Great Britain throughout the “long 18th century” is treated as a transformation of the prerogative limitations of the late Stuart monarchy into the modern constitutional mechanisms related to the extended role of parliament and the gradual transfer of the royal prerogative to the cabinet ministers. Based on contemporary historiographical reviews, the author assumed that the events of 1688 resulted in a new form of limited monarchy rather than contemporary constitutional monarchy or “parliamentary monarchy” according to Whig-adherent historians.
