The political terrorism of social democrats in Russia at the end of the 19th - in the beginning of the 20th century

The author studies the struggle between the Social Democrats and security police of the Russian Empire. This struggle includes the use of the terroristic acts, expropriations, and armed uprising. The author pays attention to the attitude of the Russian Social Democratic Party leaders towards tactics of individual and massive political terror. So V.I. Lenin considered the individual terror as the irrational tool of struggle which can be used only during the period of the recession of revolutionary activity. At the same time, Lenin accepted massive terror as a one of the instruments of political struggle.
