One of the most mature novels of Joseph Conrad is under analysis. The author of the essay looks at the novel as an unique artistic unity where Conrad amalgamates politics, psychology, theory of economy, social analysis, history and geography on the basis of novel aesthetic and thus produces the narrative that develops the pattern of the literary work with politics and a human being used by many writers of the XX century. The main stress is being done on the intensity of moral and psychological approach to a person inevitably involved in politics.
